Dev Team releases official 1.1.3 jailbreak

The iPhone Dev Team released their official 1.1.3 jailbreak today for the iPhone/iPod touch. It doesn’t come as much of a shock, since last week Nate True outed it before they wanted him too. The Dev Team’s jailbreak uses the same basic method as the previous one except this jailbreak requires a 1.1.2 jailbroken iPhone, and this jailbreak does NOT update the baseband. So, if you’ve already upgraded to 1.1.3, follow the instructions at hackthatphone to downgrade it. It might say SIM error at the beginning, but keep going and it should go away once the process is complete. If it doesn’t, then just restore it to 1.1.3 again. I haven’t had a chance to test this official jailbreak, but I did test Nate True’s version and I ended up restoring my phone to the normal 1.1.3 because it wasn’t working to well on the jailbreak. I’m going to try to get a video of the process up for this one, so stay tuned.
