iPhone SDK delayed 1-3 weeks?

February is almost over and there is no sign of the software development kit (SDK) for iPhone. Steve Jobs promised that it would be in developer’s hands by the end of this month and it doesn’t look like that’s likely. The opportunity to send out media invitations is long gone and considering that the SDK is a big thing, it seems like Apple would hold an event to release it.
Arik Hesseldhal of BusinessWeek is adding to the delay theory by saying that the “situation is fluid, and a lot of last-minute decisions are close to being made about what precisely will or will not be disclosed next week, if anything. There are, apparently, a lot of moving parts to something this complex.”
Hopefully Steve will get us this SDK soon, because having some official third-party apps would definitely be nice to have. How about a real mobile iChat, a SlingPlayer client, and an Office editor, that would all be really appreciated.
